Saving the best for last,
may be the last thing that you regret,
when the future flips to the past,
and you haven’t done or said it yet.

What we assume to be the best,
in our minds flippant eye,
may be the very thing you detest,
and leave you wondering why?

Sometimes that light we leave to savour,
at some other time we don’t possess,
may have been what we needed to favour,
and now damns what could have been blessed.

Some advise for a rainy day to save,
even though the sun now shines,
upon an empty grave,
that rests among the pines.

So do it now,
that “best for last”,
before a bow,
and the play has passed.
