Bowing Out

Deposit your cares on the riverbank,
take no interest in them now.
Drift away with your dancing partner,
say farewell with a final bow.

Take a turn down rolling rivers,
search for the solace stream.
Cancel out all you’re your destinations,
from your stresses you must be weaned.

All those days you dreamt of this moment,
gazing from a pressured place.
Be present now, not distracted,
absorbing all of nature’s grace.

You set off to escape your current dilemmas,
but that contentment you seek is so elusive,
as your mind wanders back to where you began.
Why are we all so self obtrusive,
maybe that’s part of the plan.
